The Culture of Dying Matters: Aroma Care Invites you to Join the Conversation

Aroma Care is honoured to support Dying Matters Awareness Week 2025, running from 5–11 May. This year’s theme, “The Culture of Dying Matters,” invites everyone to reflect on how we talk about death, dying, and grief—both individually and as a society. The campaign, led by Hospice UK, is a national movement encouraging open, honest conversations about end of life experiences.

Why Dying Matters Awareness Week Is So Important

Despite death being a universal experience, many people still find it difficult to talk about. This silence often leads to misunderstandings, emotional distress, and a lack of preparation for end-of-life decisions.

Dying Matters Awareness Week 2025 aims to change that by opening up compassionate, culturally inclusive conversations that help individuals and families understand their options and express their wishes with confidence.

At Aroma Care Northamptonshire, we are proud to be Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Accredited for end-of-life care, reflecting our unwavering commitment to providing compassionate high quality care to individuals nearing the end of life, ensuring dignity and comfort in their final days.

A National Call for Compassionate Conversations

Chris White, Senior Digital Marketing & Campaign Manager at Hospice UK, shares:

“Talking about death and dying is never easy, but it’s vital. Honest and timely conversations can ensure that people get the support they need and help loved ones better understand their wishes.

This Dying Matters Awareness Week, we’re focusing on the diverse cultural approaches to death and dying within the UK and how those perspectives can inspire more open, meaningful discussions in every community.

We hope that by sharing and learning from these experiences, we can create a society where talking about death is less of a taboo and where everyone feels empowered to have these conversations.”
