Why Choose Aroma Care?

We believe that every child deserves the best care and support tailored to their unique needs.

Because of this, our focus is on your child’s happiness and well-being. We also involve children in their own care and support planning, celebrating and strengthening parent-child relationships.

Ways in which we are helping the children in our care and their families

Stepping up for complex needs

We are also caring for a child who suffers with extreme anxiety and suicidal thoughts since being paralysed and was refusing to speak to anyone including his own family at times.

The management team matched him with a carer who’s caring nature and formal training was most suited for the child.  The care worker has built up an amazing relationship with the child and confides in her, speaks to her like they have been friends forever and the child expressed his interest in going out in the community with the carer.

This was promptly facilitated and the child is now enjoying regular outings with the main carer and his mental health well-being has significantly improved since.

Helping children and their families with social isolation

We have had one child who’s family was very isolated prior to us taking them on due to mum not being able to manage him independently because of his extensive needs.  This also had a massive strain on mum and her mental health, as well as the family.

We put in place a regular care who spoke the native language of the family as we felt this was necessary to facilitate communication and then the carer assisted the child to access the community.  At first it was just to go to local parks, however they are now going to a local trampoline park regularly, which gives the family a well needed rest and helps the child burn off his energy safely and enjoyably.

A recent ‘Children in Need’ Social Worker has stated that the care massively improved the quality of life not only for the child, but the family as a whole.

Encouraging unique interests

We have another young person in our care who suffers with Bipolar and an undiagnosed psychological disorder. The uncertainty of an undiagnosed condition has also created a massive strain on the child’s parents, who struggled to get help as the child has consistently refused to accept new caregivers or leave her home.

The young person was encouraged and informed of all steps throughout our care planning and onboarding process and was matched with a care worker that has completed specialised training.

Developing from her interests, the child has accessed local reptile shops with her carer which consolidated their bond and has even purchased a snake with the assistance of her carer.  Her weekly schedule includes a walk through the community to the local shops, which she has never done before.  Caring for her pet snake has helped the child to trust our care worker, proved our dedication to listen to her preferrences and she has now improved her symptons and overall well-being.

Together with her family, we are developing a plan to organise a day trip to a farm in London for the child to attend with our carer.  The farm is designed for young people with social disorders and studies have shown that these type of activities are improving overall health and welbeing.  The child is very excited about the prospect of spending a day with farm animals and being shown how to care for them.

Support through the hardest times

The family of a child we cared for was struggling to maintain a balance between caring for her and the other children whilst working.

We alocated a regular staff member who we matched for personality and similar attributes with the family dynamics. Whilst in our care, the child has unfortunately suffered some fluctuations in her health. The staff member assisted with taking the child to her medical appointments and resided with her at hospital for 12 hour days to provide respite for parents to maintain a stable family unit for the other children.  The carer also assisted the child to access any activities within the hospital.
